What's
New at the Studio
Our teaching roster is changing. Lisa Shafer will
no longer teach on Tuesday night so she can focus
on new projects that are being taken on by Mind Body
Solutions. In addition, Betsy Ricker will no longer
teach Thursday morning and T. Porter will no longer
teach Sunday morning. Betsy will continue to work
with Mind Body Solutions in our efforts at the Courage
Center. T. has a new job traveling within the airline
industry, but will continue to be in the Mind Body
Solutions mix. We are profoundly grateful to all of
them.
We are happy to announce
that Shari Danielson will be teaching the 9:30 intermediate
class and Becky Kern will be teaching the 11:30 beginning
class on Thursday morning. The Sunday class will move
to 9:30 and will be taught by Andy Lear as a beginning
class.
What's
New for the Business Programs
Mind Body Solutions is continuing to carry out its
mission to make yoga more accessible to people living
with disabilities. This May, Matthew Sanford will
be a keynote speaker and teach classes both at the
Yoga Journal Conference and at the Midwest Yoga Conference.
At both venues, he will be teaming up with Jo Zukovich
to teach an intensive on adapting yoga for people
living with disabilities.
We began work with
the Courage Center to build a new model for holistic
rehabilitation. This will be a collaborative effort
with some of our teachers and students taking part.
Finally, Matthew
Sanford's book Waking: A Memoir Of Trauma And Transcendence
is a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award in the
memoir category. Winners will be announced on May
5th.
